Nighthawk Ambassador

Nighthawk Ambassadors is Del Norte’s selective student-leadership program. Getting in takes teacher nominations (I was nominated by more than one), an application and an interview, and about 20 students are chosen from a class of roughly 620.

Ambassadors visit elementary and middle schools around Poway Unified to talk with younger students about the program’s pillars, including strong character, taking academics seriously, and staying substance-free. It’s outreach like my cyber-safety work with CyberCEO, but about growing up instead of passwords.
